Mauro Gallegati (born March 8, 1958) is an Italian New-keynesian economist, scholar of the Agent Based Econonomics 〔J.Doyne Farmer and Duncan Foley, "The Economy Needs Agent-Based Modelling" (pdf,922KB), Nature, Vol. 460, August 6, 2009, 685-686.〕 and professor at Marche Polytechnic University in Ancona, Italy. == Biography == After having earned his PhD in Economics in 1989 at Marche Polytechnic University with a thesis on financial fragility under the supervision of Hyman Minsky, he has held visiting positions, both as a scholar and as a professor at Washington University di St. Louis, University of Cambridge, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Santa Fe Institute, Brookings Institution, University of Technology, Sydney, Kyoto University, ETH.〔(Curriculum accademico ) sul sito dell'Università Politecnica delle Marche.〕 He currently teaches advanced macroeconomics at Marche Polytechnic University, in the Faculty of Economics "Giorgio Fuà".〔http://www.univpm.it/Entra/Engine/RAServePG.php/P/601310011893/T/Guida-Insegnamenti〕 He has been the President of the ESHIA Society (''Economic science with heterogeneous interacting agents'').〔http://eshia.bwl.uni-kiel.de/council_society.php〕 His research activity is mainly centred on complexity economics.
